Nizamia ( Arabic: النظامية ) is a Sufi brotherhood ( tarikat ), an independent regional branch of the Chishtiya fraternity. The tarikat was founded by Sheikh Nizamuddin, known as Nizam al-Avliya (1238-1325) [1] . The residence of the head of the tariqa and the main monastery ( zawiya ) until the second half of the 14th century was near Delhi , in Giyaspur. Nizamia differed from the Chishtiya fraternity in that it was more consistent in the fulfillment of the Shariah prescriptions and especially honored Jalaladdin Rumi's book Masnavi-i Masnavi. They read this book during the time of rejoicing ( dhikr ). In addition, many local fraternity communities have introduced some techniques of Indian yoga into their practice. For a long time, the brotherhood survived a period of decline, but at the beginning of the XVIII century. the brotherhood gained popularity thanks to Sheikh Shah-Kalimallah Jahanabadi (1650-1729). He revised the doctrine, method and practice of the tariqah from an update point of view [2] .
