Mayriella ebbei (lat.) - a species of ants from the subfamily Miramicin ( Myrmicinae , Solenopsidini ). Australia (the most southern species of the genus) [1] .

Mayriella ebbei Shattuck & Barnett, 2007

Description

Length about 2 mm. The main color is yellowish-brown. Head length (HL) 0.47–0.58 mm; head width (HW) 0.43–0.54 mm. Antennae 10-segmented, mace consists of 2 segments. The length of the scape (SL) is 0.27–0.35 mm. The propodeal spikes are long and thin. It differs from other species of the genus Mayriella by its numerous distant hairs on the abdomen. The shape of the outer edge of the post- petition is similar to the view of Mayriella spinosior , but differs from it in the form of the petiole nodule and in more than 4 distant hairs on the post- petiol . Nests in the soil. The species was first described in 2007 by Australian myrmecologists Steven Shattak and Natalie Barnett (Shattuck Steven O. and Natalie J. Barnett, CSIRO Entomology, Canberra , Australia ) [1] .
