Karla Marks Street is a street in the Central District of the city of Kursk . The street runs from south to north: from Perekalsky Square to the city’s border along the Moscow-Simferopol highway ; has a length of 5.2 km. The name was given in 1918 to the former 1st Street Highway in honor of the founder of scientific communism , the leader of the international working-class movement Karl Marx (1848-1883). Simultaneously with the renaming in 1918, Romanovskaya Street was also included in Karl Marx Street, which now corresponds to the section of the modern Karl Marx Street from the intersection with Nikitskaya Street to the north. Until 1905, 1st Shosseynaya Street was called Shosseynaya Street [1] [2] .

Temple of the Great Martyr George the Victorious (No. 76-b)
Three-tiered Orthodox church, part of the memorial complex "Kursk Bulge". It was conceived as a monument to the soldiers killed in the battles on the Kursk Bulge , laid in 1998 on the 55th anniversary of the Battle of Kursk . Construction by the project of Kursk architects Valery Mikhailov and Pavel Pakhomov was completed in 2008, the temple was consecrated on October 5, 2008. The temple is a church-bell tower with a total height of about 47 meters, built of monolithic reinforced concrete , with the construction used decorative elements of a composite classical order with a complex plasticity of the walls and columns and porticos protruding against their background. The high basement of the building is trimmed with dark brown granite slabs. The temple is crowned with a gilded dome in the form of a crown [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] .
