Born in 1869 in Helsingfors, in the Grand Duchy of Finland.
In 1912, at the Olympic Games in Stockholm , speaking for the Finnish team, he took part in competitions in shooting disciplines. He won the bronze medal in the team championship in single shots at the “running deer”, but he was only 14th in the individual championship.
