Biography
Alexey Pozdnyakov was born on March 24, 1918 in Yekaterinodar (now Krasnodar ). He graduated from high school. In 1937, Pozdnyakov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army with the Rostov RVC. In 1940 he graduated from the Melitopol Military Aviation School. From the first day of World War II - on its fronts [1] .
The junior observer pilot of the 125th High-Speed Bomber Aviation Regiment, Lieutenant Pozdnyakov, was shot down on July 9, 1941, on the Western Front. [2] [3]
By December 1941, Lieutenant Aleksey Pozdnyakov made 74 sorties on the bombardment of accumulations of military equipment and manpower of the enemy, his important objects, inflicting heavy losses on him. He took part in 8 air battles, shooting down 2 enemy aircraft. [1] By order of the Sun of the Leningrad Front No. 1007 / n dated 12/20/1941, the shooter-bomber of the 125th BAP Lieutenant Pozdnyakov was awarded the Order of the Red Star for 42 successful bombing and 2 downed ME-109 aircraft ( [4] Introduced to the rank of Hero of the Soviet Union). By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 10, 1943, for “exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and courage and heroism shown” (for 74 sorties on the bombardment of enemy positions), navigator of the 125th BAP squadron, Lieutenant Alexei Pozdnyakov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 921 [1] [6] [7] .
After the war, Pozdnyakov continued to serve in the Soviet Army. He graduated from the Borisoglebsk Military Aviation School of Pilots. In January 1961, with the rank of Colonel Pozdnyakov was transferred to the reserve. He lived in Krasnodar, worked as the director of advanced training courses for senior and engineering personnel of the USSR Ministry of Food Industry. In 1985 he was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree. [eight]
He died on July 2, 2005 [1] .

Honorary Citizen of Krasnodar . He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree (1985) [9] , two orders of the Red Star , a number of medals [1] .
