Biography

In 1849 he graduated from the 2nd Moscow Grammar School [1] . After completing the course with a gold medal at the former Main Pedagogical Institute (VII edition; 1853 ), he was left at the institute as an associate professor in the department of mathematics [2] . In 1857, he defended a dissertation at the University of St. Petersburg on the topic "The General Theory of Equilibrium of Solids Immersed in a Liquid".

Since 1863, he began to teach theoretical mechanics at the Mikhailovsky Artillery Academy .

In 1865, Budaev began to give lectures at the university - at first, as a privat-docent in descriptive geometry, higher geometry and elasticity theory; in 1878 he was elected his full-time assistant professor, and he was instructed to read part of the course in mechanics, and since 1885 , after being appointed an extraordinary professor , he began to take a course in analytic geometry.

In addition, he taught various branches of pure and applied mathematics at other higher educational institutions: the 2nd Military Konstantinovsky School , the Institute of Railway Engineers and the Nikolaev Engineering Academy .

Nikolai Sergeevich Budaev died on September 16, 1902 and was buried in the Shuvalovsky cemetery [3] .
