Biography
Adriano Guarnieri was born on September 10, 1947 in Sustinent in Italy. He completed his musical education at the Giovanni Battista Martini Conservatory in Bologna, where he graduated with honors from the choral music class, under the direction of and the composition class, under the direction of .
Got a place as a composer and conductor in the New Ensemble Bruno Maderna , founded in 1975 in Florence, with which he performed in Hungary, at the Venice Biennale , at the festivals “Music of Our Time” in Milan and “Fiesolan Spring” in Florence. After some time, he devoted himself completely to composer creativity and pedagogical activity. He taught composition at the conservatories of Milan, Florence, Pesaro and Bologna, led seminars in music schools in the United States.
In the late 1980s, his opera Triumph of the Night ( Italian: Trionfo della notte ) was staged on the stage of the City Theater of Bologna based on a libretto to verses by Pierre Paolo Pazolini . In 1987, critics noted the composer's work with the Franco Abbiati Prize , calling it the best premiere of the year. The poetry of Pierre Palo Pazolini is dedicated to his famous "Night Romance No. 2" ( Italian: Romanza alla notte N.2 ) - a concert for violin and orchestra and "Wisteria" ( Italian. Il glicine ).
In 1995, he began a long collaboration with the poet , with whom he created “What you grieve about” ( Latin Quare tristis ), “Gray thoughts” ( Italian: Pensieri canuti ), “Passion for Matthew” ( Italian: Passione secondo Matteo ). In 1993 he received an award from the city of Montepulciano for the composition "Orpheus sang with ..." ( Italian. Orfeo ... cantando tolse ) based on texts by Angelo Poliziano . For the opera Medea ( Italian: Medea ), filmed together with the director Giorgio Barberio Corzetti, in 2002 Adriano Guarnieri received the second prize of Franco Abbiati.
Rewards
June 2, 2008 in Rome was elevated to the Knights of the Order of Merit for the Italian Republic .
