Botanical Description
Biennial herb from a height of 30 to 110 cm, with a stem root . The stem is erect, unbranched, firmly pubescent with setae and hairs .
The flowers are sessile, numerous (up to 100 or more), collected in intermittent spike - shaped inflorescences , located in it with thick, one-sided bunches of 6-7. Corolla tubular, violet-blue, naked.
Flowering in June-July.
The fruit is a trihedral box . Seeds are cylindrical, dark brown. Reproduction is seed [2] .
Distribution and habitat
It grows in the south of Central Europe , in the Balkans , in Moldova , in the west of Asia Minor . The species distribution center is located in the Danube countries and in the Balkans; it is also found in Ukraine on the Donetsk Ridge . In Russia, the coarse bell is known only from the Rostov region [2] .
Drought-resistant, grows on the steppe and rocky-steppe slopes, among shrubbery , on the fringes [2] .
Security
The species is included in the Red Book of the Rostov region and the Donetsk region of Ukraine [3] . The reason for the reduction in numbers is low competitiveness, and, as a consequence, special sensitivity to anthropogenic factors - plowing of virgin lands, grazing [2] .
