Biography

Den Harrow's real name is Manuel Stefano Karry (Manuel Stefano Carrie). From the age of seven he became interested in playing the piano and guitar , but he had serious problems with the English language, and this led to difficulties in communicating with his peers. The real, studio voice in the albums of this Italian singer-model, so beloved by many at the stage of his early work, belongs to the British singer Tom Hooker, who, in collaboration with Italian composers and producers Mika Cheregatto and Roberto Turatti, brought in 1984 -1987 fame unknown to a guy from Italy. Photogenicity, excellent physical fitness and a great desire to be associated with show business led to the fact that Manuel became a fashion model. At one of the Milanese discos, he met the famous DJ Roberto Turatti, who became the producer of Manuel. Roberto was engaged in producing studio projects and selected young men of model appearance for the stage, for which professional singers would sing. Turatti worked together with composer Mickey Cheregatto. Together they lit many stars, including Eddy Hungtington, Albert One, Alba, Fred Ventura, they also created one of the hits for Stefanie. In addition, Turatti produced the project Miko Mission. The first official single was released in 1985 and it was called "Future Brain". Den Harrow has become one of the most famous and beloved stars of all discos in Europe . The pseudonym Den Harrow (Dan Harrow) was formed from the Italian word "dinar" - a small bargaining chip. All of his subsequent singles "Bad Boy", "Charleston" and "Catch the fox" were received by the audience with a bang. Dan's first album "Overpower", released in the same 1985 , brought him great success. In 1986, Mr. Harrow won the Silver OTTO (prize from the famous German music magazine Bravo ) for this album.

In 1987, he received the Golden OTTO. This was facilitated by the fact that in 1987 he released one of his most famous and best hits - "Don't break my heart", written by Dieter Bohlen, who is part of the Italo-Disco gold fund. But at this time, the fraud revealed by Roberto Turatti and Mickey Cheregatto. Revealing articles began to appear in the press that the singer sings under "plywood". That was true. In 1986, Tom Hooker decided to release a solo album with the symbolic title "Help Me!"

Since Den Harrow was a model, no one taught him to sing. Several years of training were able to finally put Dan's voice, but it was very different from the one to which everyone was accustomed. On the new album "Lies" (1989) Den Harrow is already singing himself, but this does not help to rectify the situation. And although this was far from the first case when the other sings for one, Dan was angrily criticized, attacked by ill-wishers and many fans turned his back on him. The album failed in sales.

Despite all this, Dan did not break down and left for England to continue his career, but already recording songs with his own voice. In 1992, he released the fourth album, "All I Want Is You," which was produced by Jennifer Rush and Natalie Cole. This disc took fourth place on the German chart and was sold in the amount of 800,000 copies. In 1993, the album Real Big Love was recorded, produced by Natalie Cole. In 1996, the next album, "I, Den", was released. This time Dan worked with the famous producer Mauro Farina, famous for the band Radiorama. Remixes of old songs were also made. In 1999, another album, "Back From The Future", was released. In recent years, Dan has been touring Europe with varying success (including performing at the Disco 80s festival in 2007), but now he is a sporty-looking man with a short haircut, and not the former romantic young man who was remembered in the eighties.
