Freund, Peter

In 1971, Peter Freund began to study journalism, political science and sociology. During his studies, he worked as a freelance journalist for Tagesspiegel and Sender Freies Berlin . From 1980 to 1986 he was the organizer of many cinemas in Berlin, from 1986 worked in film distribution, since 1993 he has been writing and filming films and TV shows for Fenix ​​- Film in Berlin.

Peter Freund became famous after creating a series of books - fantasy for teens about Laura Leander. They tell about a thirteen-year-old boarding school girl who learns about her extraordinary abilities, which she needs to fight evil. It was originally planned to publish five books, but in 2007, at the request of readers, the sixth book was published. The first volume within a year after the presentation was sold out with a circulation of over 100,000 copies. Peter Freund is married, has two children, lives in Berlin.

On her thirteenth birthday, Laura Leander learns that she was born on the Number of Thirteen and that she, like her missing father, is counted among the Light Guards, whose task is to protect the Earth and her sister, the twin Aventerra from the Dark Forces, led by Prince Borboron. Therefore, she must exercise her extraordinary abilities, in which she is assisted by three trained Guardians at Ravenstein boarding school. And she trains in telekinesis, the ability to read other people's thoughts, to travel in dreams. (The latter helps her to get to other places in the past in order to continue the struggle with Evil there. In the first four volumes, Laura experiences many adventures, trying to save Earth and Aventerra from the Dark Forces. Her brother Lucas and girlfriend Kaya often accompany her. Laura hopes to free her father whom the Dark Side has dragged on Aventerra, and very often runs the risk of it. At the end of the fourth book she manages to achieve her goal, but she also seeks to find out why her mother died. The end of the fifth book remains open, it is not clear where Laura must fight, here or on Aventerra.

In the sixth book, Laura completely forgets Aventerra. Nevertheless, the Dark Forces seized her and Laura fell into a kind of hibernation. Through a journey of dreams, she must again fight with Evil in order to save herself and her brother, who also fell into the networks of the Dark Forces.
