Achalcus

Achalcus ( lat. , from other Greek ἄχαλκος “without copper”) is a genus of green-fly flies from the family Dolichopodidae ( diptera ). 24 species. Palaearctic , Nearctic , Neotropics , Australia , New Zealand [2] [3] . In Russia, 5 species [4] .

Content

Description

Small dipter insects. Wings with divergent veins R 4 + 5 and M 1 + 2 . The stylus is approximately equal in length to the first three segments of the antennae. Shins of hind legs with 3 anterodorsal and 3 posterodorsal setae; Scapus is naked. Hypandrium with a smooth top. The genus was first isolated in 1857 by the German dipterologist Friedrich German Leuw (1807–1879) [2] .
