Vasily Fedorovich Starchenko (born March 7 ( March 20 ), 1904 , the village of Temryuk , Ukraine - d. July 17, 1948, Kiev , Ukraine ) - agricultural chemist, Soviet statesman, corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences in the specialty agricultural chemistry since 12/02/1945.

Biography

He was born on March 7 (March 20), 1904 in the village of Temryuk (now the village of the Nikolsky district of Donetsk region ).

Born in the family of a poor peasant. Since 9 years he worked in agriculture. In 1918 he graduated from the two-year school and entered the Verkhnedneprovsk secondary agricultural school. In 1923 he graduated from the Verkhnedneprovsk Agricultural Professional School. In 1923-1925 he studied at the Erastovo Agricultural College. In 1925-1929 he studied at the Kiev Agricultural Institute .

In 1928 he became a member of the CPSU (b). In 1929-1930 he worked as a research fellow at the agricultural department of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of the Sugar Industry. In 1930-1932 he studied at graduate school at the All-Union Research Institute of the Sugar Industry. From 1932 to 1934 he worked as an agronomist in Sortonasintrest, an inspector for experimental selection stations. In 1934-1938 he was the director and supervisor of the Mironovskaya experimental-selection station of the Kiev region.

In 1938, he was elected chairman of the executive committee of the Kiev Regional Council of Workers' Deputies. From December 1938 he was deputy chairman of the Council of People's Commissars, and from 1946 - the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR . In 1938-1940, a candidate member of the Central Committee of the CP (b) U. Since 1939 - a candidate member of the Central Committee of the CPSU (b). Member of the Supreme Council of the USSR of the 1st and 2nd convocations . Member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR since 1941 [1] .

He died on July 17, 1948. He was buried in Kiev at the Lukyanovsky cemetery .
