Väinö Siikaniemi ( Fin. Väinö Siikaniemi ; March 27, 1887 - August 24, 1932 ) - Finnish teacher and poet, Olympic medalist.

Väinö Siykaniemi was born in 1887 in the community of Hollola ( Grand Duchy of Finland ). In 1912, at the Olympic Games in Stockholm , speaking for the Finnish team he won a silver medal in javelin throw with his right and left hands (the best result was counted). This was his only major sports performance.
Subsequently, Väinö Siykaniemi became a teacher of mathematics, engaged in translations. In 1923, his first poem was published, and in 1929 a collection of his poems was published.
Väinö Siykaniemi died in 1932 due to complications from pneumonia.
Family
Since 1916, he was married to the Finnish singer (1888-1932), the sister of the singer Alma Kuula . Oily died in early August 1932, her husband died a few weeks after her.
