Biography
Alexander Krivonos was born on December 15, 1923 in the village of Bryukhovetskaya (now the Krasnodar Territory ). After finishing seven classes of the school, he worked in the city of Berezniki, Perm Region . In 1941, Krivonos was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . Since August 1942 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. He took part in the battles of Stalingrad and the Kursk . By August 1943, Sergeant Alexander Krivonos was a sniper of the 201st Infantry Regiment of the 84th Infantry Division of the 53rd Army of the 2nd Ukrainian Front . He distinguished himself during the Belgorod-Kharkov operation [1] .
On August 6, 1943, in the battle for the village of Almaznoye, Belgorod Region, Belgorod Region, Krivonos was the first in his unit to break into the German trench and destroy 5 enemy soldiers, and 2 more were taken prisoner. August 12 - 18 , being in the rear of the enemy, destroyed 16 enemy soldiers and officers, 5 more were captured, and also destroyed 2 cars. On August 18, 1943, attacking the enemy from the flank in the vicinity of the village of Semenovka, Dergachevsky District, Kharkov Region, Ukrainian SSR , he personally destroyed 18 enemy soldiers. On August 22, during the battle for the Kommunar state farm in the Kharkov region , Krivonos destroyed 77 enemy soldiers and officers in one battle. On the same day, in one of the further battles, he blew up 5 German mortars , and returning to his own, destroyed 2 more firing points along the way [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 22, 1944 for "courage, bravery and heroism shown in the struggle against the German invaders," Sergeant Alexander Krivonos was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 2539 [1 ] .
In 1944, Krivonos graduated from junior lieutenant courses. He participated in the liberation of the Moldavian SSR , Romania , Poland , and battles in Germany . In 1946, with the rank of senior lieutenant guard, he was sacked. Suddenly died on July 9 of that year [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner and World War 1 degree, a number of medals [1] .
