Story

The film takes place in Ukraine, going through hard times. The death of the hetman of the army of Zaporizhzhya Bohdan Khmelnitsky intensified the struggle for hetman power between his former senior Jura (servant) Ivan Bryukhovetsky and the successor to the son of Bohdan Khmelnitsky - Yuri - Yakim Somko .

The bloody denouement of this confrontation took place at the “Black” Cossack Rada in 1663 , convened to elect the hetman of the Left-Bank Ukraine , which was attended not only by the top Cossacks - Cossack foreman , but also ordinary Cossacks, including from the Zaporizhzhya Sich - “mob”, which also had the right to vote.

Against the backdrop of political intrigues, unexpected alliances and betrayals, another film, a love storyline, unfolds in the film.
