Story

The film begins with Wesley Deeds ( Tyler Perry ), a wealthy heir and successor to the family-owned computer software company, Deeds, going to work. His fiancee Natalie ( Gabriel Union ) is preparing breakfast, emphasizing the routine and monotony of their lives. On the way, he captures Walter’s younger brother ( Brian J. White ), an offender who lost his driver’s license after a series of accidents. Wesley informs his brother of a planned dinner with their mother, a respectable woman named Wilimena ( Filisia Rashad ) [4] [5] .

After lunch, Wilimana sets off with Natalie and her friend Heidi ( Rebecca Romaine ) to the bridal salon, where they talk about how many children they and Wesley would like. At the same time, in a poor part of the city, a girl named Lindsey ( Thandie Newton ), a single mother and a cleaning lady at the Deeds Corporation, discovers that she will soon be evicted from her home if she does not pay the accumulated bills in the near future. She hurries to work, parks the car in the parking lot, leaving her six-year-old daughter Ariel (Jorden Thompson) there. Wesley and Walter find the girl in the car while Lindsay is trying to find the one who decided to lower her salary. She returns to the car and intends to have time to take her daughter to school, a small discussion arises between her and the men. She leaves, and Wesley, meanwhile, meets on a business trip with her colleague and best friend John ( Eddie Cibrian ).

Lindsay returns home and discovers that he no longer has the rights and the opportunity to live here. She takes her daughter out of school, and thinks about finding a new job, and while her change is not finished, she is holding the girl in one of the utility rooms of the building. After they intend to live in a van. Wesley observes this picture and decides to follow them until they notice him. In the end, he invites them to eat pizza.

School teacher Ariel discovers that they have no housing and threatens to call the guardianship authorities. Wesley decides to get close to them and help. Natalie returns home drunk after a fashion show at some nightclub, trying to seduce Wesley, but he does not reciprocate. It annoys her, she breaks down at him from anger.

The custody authorities still take Ariel from Lindsay, promising to return her if she finds a place where they can live. Wesley invites them to stay in a rented corporation rented apartment. So, Lindsay again returned the daughter, and now she wants to thank Wesley for the help provided. She finds in him something that he knows little about himself, looking for his other side. For example, a girl learns that he likes to ride a motorcycle. She rents motorbikes for both of them, and they leave for the countryside. They stop at the pond, talk, and kiss. Lindsey hurriedly returns for her daughter to school.

Wesley conducts major transactions, finds the necessary information about competing organizations, in honor of which the corporation has a party. Lindsay appears on it, but then leaves, having seen that Walter is not behaving in the best way. Wesley stops her and asks to stay. Walter sees them together and decides that they have an affair. He speaks unpleasantly about Lindsay, calling her a janitor. Wilimana takes the girl away and says that for her eldest son, a new relationship is not needed, given that he has a long-standing love with Natalie. Lindsay leaves the party and gets stuck in the elevator while Wesley and Walter sort things out.

Wesley heads for Lindsay's rented apartment, but she rejects him. Wesley and Natalie are talking, concluding that although they love each other, their future marriage will not bring happiness, but only play a positive role for their parents, who will be pleased to him. Wiliman learns about this and is not delighted. Wesley reports that he decided to leave the post of head of the corporation, to appoint an old friend John to this position, and he plans to go on trips to meet old friends. John is against it, but Walter supports him.

Wesley informs Lindsay about the planned trip to Nigeria, calls them with him, as well as about leaving the company. Lindsay rejects him again and refuses to go. Wesley leaves and heads for the airport. At the last moment before landing, he spots Lindsay and Ariel. The girl happily watches them kiss.
