Imre Nemeth ( September 23, 1917 - August 18, 1989 ) is a Hungarian athlete who specialized in hammer throwing. Champion of the 1948 Olympic Games with a score of 56.07 m. Also won the bronze medal of the 1952 Olympics, showing a result of 57.74 m. Twelve-time champion of Hungary. At the European Championships of 1946, he took 4th place, and 6th place at the 1954 European Championship.
