Biography

He was born on May 20, 1921 in the village of Mikhailovka, Shchigrovsky district, Kursk province [1] . In 1938 he graduated from 9 classes of a school in the village of Tolstoy Kolodez ( Cheremisinovsky district ).

In the army since August 1938. In 1939 he graduated from the Tambov Military Infantry School. He served as platoon commander in the infantry (in the Leningrad Military District ).

Member of the Soviet-Finnish war : in January-March 1940 - commander of a machine-gun platoon and commander of a foot reconnaissance platoon of the 305th rifle regiment.

He continued his service as a platoon commander (in the Kiev military district ). In June-July 1940, as the commander of the reconnaissance platoon of the 305th Infantry Regiment, he participated in the campaign of Soviet troops in Bessarabia .

Member of the Great Patriotic War : from June 1941 - commander of the reconnaissance platoon of the 305th infantry regiment ( South-Western and Southern Fronts). He participated in border battles west of the city of Stanislav (now the city of Ivano-Frankivsk , Ukraine ) and defensive battles in the Uman direction. In August 1941, he was wounded in the area of ​​the village of Novoarkhangelsk ( Kirovograd region , Ukraine ). Being in a field hospital, he was surrounded. At the end of August 1941, together with other fighters, he went out to his own in the area of ​​the city of Cherkasy ( Ukraine ).

In October 1941 - March 1942 - the commander of the training platoon of advanced training courses for the command staff of the South-Western Front , in March 1942 - March 1943 - the commander of the training company of the courses of junior lieutenants of the South-Western , Stalingrad , Don and Central fronts. Participated in defensive battles in the Voronezh direction.

In April-October 1943 - the commander of the battalion of the 685th Infantry Regiment ( Central Front ). He participated in the Battle of Kursk , the Chernihiv-Pripyat operation and the battle of the Dnieper . On October 15, 1943, in the vicinity of the village of Loev ( Gomel region , Belarus ), he was one of the first to cross the Dnieper at the head of the landing. Skillfully organizing the capture, expansion and retention of the bridgehead on the west bank of the river, the battalion under his command repelled all enemy counterattacks and ensured the crossing of the river with the main forces of the regiment. On October 27, 1943, he was wounded in battles on the captured bridgehead and spent a month in the medical battalion.

For courage and heroism shown in the battles, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated October 30, 1943, Major Nesterov Vladimir Fedorovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal .

In November-December 1943 - deputy commander of the 883th Infantry Regiment ( Belorussian Front ). Participated in the Gomel-Rechitsa operation .

In March 1944 he graduated from the Shot courses , in 1947, from the MV Frunze Military Academy . In 1947-1949 - the commander of the battalion of the Vladivostok Infantry School, in 1949-1951 - the commander of the battalion and the head of the tactical cycle of the Annunciation Infantry School. In 1951-1953, he was a teacher of tactics at the Volsky United Officer Courses, and in 1953-1957, he was deputy head of the Baku Military School .

In 1957-1963 he was deputy commander of motorized rifle divisions (in the Transcaucasian Military District ), in 1963-1965 he was a senior lecturer in the general tactics department of the MV Frunze Military Academy . From December 1965 to August 1967 he was on a business trip in Cuba as a teacher in operational-tactical training at the Higher Academic Courses. In 1967-1978 he was again a senior lecturer at the General Tactics Department of the MV Frunze Military Academy , and since 1978, he was deputy chief of staff of the army. Since October 1979, Major General V.F. Nesterov - in stock.

He lived in Moscow. He died on August 9, 2003 . He was buried in the Rakitki cemetery in Moscow.
