Biography
Alexey Krasnokutsky was born on March 30, 1913 in the village of Happiness (now - a city in the Novoaydarsky district of the Luhansk region of Ukraine ). Received primary education, after which he worked at the Voroshilovgrad Locomotive Plant. In February 1942, Krasnokutsky was called up to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. Since March 1943 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. In battles he was wounded twice [1] .
By March 1945, guard sergeant Alexei Krasnokutsky was in command of the 4th Guards Mechanized Brigade of the 2nd Guards Mechanized Corps of the 46th Army of the 2nd Ukrainian Front . Distinguished during battles in Hungary . On March 21, 1945, on the outskirts of Gyor, his squad destroyed a group of 40 enemy soldiers and officers. On March 28, replacing the retired platoon commander, Krasnokutsky, along with this platoon, broke through the German defense and repelled several enemy counterattacks, destroying 4 armored personnel carriers and several dozens of soldiers and officers [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 15, 1946, for the "exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown" of the Guard, Sergeant Major Aleksey Krasnokutsky was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal Star ” , number 9102 [1] .
After the end of the war Krasnokutsky was demobilized. He lived and worked in Voroshilovgrad . He died on April 5, 1977 , buried in Lugansk [1] .
He was also awarded the Orders of the Red Star , Glories of the 2nd and 3rd degrees, and a number of medals [1] .
