Dmitry Timofeevich Filippov (born November 15, 1930, Ust-Lyzha ) is a Soviet miner, a coal processor engineer at the Kapitalnaya mine (Vorkuta).

Biography
Born on November 15, 1930 in the village of Ust-Lyzha, Pechora District, Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (now the urban district of Usinsk, Komi Republic).
After finishing 7 classes he worked on the collective farm “New Life” in his native village.
In 1949 he arrived in Vorkuta. After two years of study at the mining vocational school, he began his career as a logger, then as a coal processor engineer at Mine No. 1 “Capital”. In this position, he worked for 18 years, and all in the mine No. 1 “Capital” (now the mine “Vorkutinskaya” ) - 32 years. At the mine he grew up professionally and tempered, earned the respect of the team. It is no accident that the working people of Vorkuta elected him a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR and the Komi ASSR.
On June 29, 1966, Dmitry Timofeevich, along with three other Vorkutins, for outstanding achievements in fulfilling the seven-year plan for the development of the coal and shale industry and achieving high technical and economic work, was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor.
