Gvozdev, Vladimir Matveevich

Vladimir Gvozdev was born on September 29, 1947. Vladimir Matveyevich came to the Raspadskaya mine from the Lenin mine. Gvozdev worked in the team of Vladimir Devyatko , then improved his mastery in the face of the recognized ace of mining, V. N. Kolokolnikov. He was convinced that the key link in modern coal mining was the perfect operation of technology, its competent operation.

With his participation in 1978, the team produces the first million tons of coal per year. In the spring of 1980, when Kolokolnikov retired, the choice to replace him fell on the knowledgeable and respected miners Vladimir Gvozdev. In December 1982, the Gvozdev team crossed the line of half a million tons of coal, and the next year it was conquered in May. It was the first "nail" record.

In November 28, 1985, the Gvozdev team became the third millionaire brigade in the mine; by the end of the year, 1,127,200 tons of coal had been mined. For four consecutive years, the Gvozdev team completed the year with millionth figures, setting records at the domestic 4KM-130 complex.

On February 21, 1987, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, Vladimir Matveevich Gvozdev was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor.

In 1989 he was elected to the Supreme Soviet of the USSR.

He graduated from the Moscow Mining Institute (now - the Mining Institute of NUST “MISiS” ).

From 1992 to 2004, he headed the small Russian-British enterprise Raspadskaya-Joy for the extraction of coal from hard-to-recover formations.
