Astafy Fedorovich Pashnin (1907-1983) - miner of the Chelyabinsk coal basin, production innovator, Hero of Socialist Labor (1948).

Born in 1907 in with. Sugoyak of the Shadrinsky district of the Perm province. Since 1920 he was a laborer. Since 1928 he worked as a sleighman , then as a slaughterer at mine No. 3 in Kopeisk.
In 1940–55 - foreman of the tunnel team of the Chelyabshakhtostroy trust. He participated in the construction of mines No. 17, 46, 55 and others. During the Great Patriotic War, he initiated high-speed mining of excavations using drilling and blasting operations and a cyclic schedule. Having completed the 5-year plan ahead of schedule (1946–50), his team walked over 300 m of mine workings in 1950. Working simultaneously in 3 faces, Pashnin set a record, having passed 7 meters of drift per shift and fulfilled the norm by more than 800%.
He trained over 20 young workers as a driller. He was awarded the Order of Lenin (1948), 2 Orders of the Red Banner of Labor (1943, 1953), the medal "For Labor Valor" (1949), "For Labor Distinction" (1948), and was marked with the signs "Miner's Glory".
He died in 1983 in Kopeisk.
