Biography
Semyon Krasy was born on September 10, 1926 in the village of Verkhnyaya Syrovatka (now Sumy District of Sumy Oblast of Ukraine ). He graduated from seven classes of school.
In 1943, Krasy was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . Since March 1943 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. In the battles he was wounded and contused. By October of the same year, the Red Army soldier Semen Krasy was a sapper of the 180th separate sapper battalion of the 167th rifle division of the 51st rifle corps of the 38th army of the Voronezh Front . Distinguished during the forcing of the gums and the Dnieper [1] .
In September - October 1943, Krasy participated in mine clearance in reconnaissance of ferry sites. During the forcing of the Dnieper, he spent 20 hours conducting a reconnaissance of a ford in the old riverbed, after which he successfully delivered the information to the command [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of November 13, 1943, Red Army soldier Semyon Krasy was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal for “exemplary performance of combat tasks of the command at the front of the fight against the German invaders. ” " Number 4227 [1] .
Participated in the Soviet-Japanese war . After the end of the war, Krasiy continued his service in the Soviet army. In 1948 he graduated from the Leningrad School of Military Communications, in 1950 - Chernivtsi State University. In 1973, with the rank of Colonel Krasy was dismissed. Lived in Sumy. He died on February 11, 2002, and was buried at Zasumsky cemetery Sum [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War , 1st degree and a number of medals [1] .
