Vuelta of Andalusia ( Spanish: Vuelta a Andalucía ), also known as Ruta del Sol ( Spanish) Ruta del Sol , officially Spanish Vuelta a Andalucía-Ruta Ciclista Del Sol is a multi-day road bike race along the roads of the Spanish region of Costa del Sol of the autonomous community of Andalusia .

History
The race was created in 1925 by the secretary of Unión Velocipédica Española Miguel Arteman. After the first edition, it disappeared for the next 30 years until 1955, when it was again organized by Agrupación Ciclista Malagueña . In 1978, not carried out. Starting next year, it changed its name to Ruta Ciclista del Sol under which it was held from 1979 to 1986. In 1987, she returned to her original name - Vuelta a Andalucía , and in 1993 received her current name he moved to his current name - Vuelta a Andalucía Ruta Ciclista Del Sol
Since 2005, it has been included in the UCI Europe Tour calendar and has category 2.1 , since 2017 - 2 HC.
In 2009, the organizers of the race did not renew the agreement with the Spanish Association of Cycling Organizers (Asociación Española de Organizadores de Carreras Ciclistas) and the Association of Teams (Asociación de Equipos) , under which they were obliged to invite all Spanish teams, as well as pay them the amount that the organizers considered exorbitant. [1] and did not allow the race to grow internationally. In fact, along with the Vuelta of Murcia , who also did not adhere to the rules of the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation , which barred the participation of foreign continental teams if all Spanish teams of this category did not participate in the race. This has led to the gradual improvement of participants and television broadcasting worldwide.
Held in February, being one of the first European races on the calendar. The route initially primarily consisted of 7-8 stages, in recent years it consists mainly of 5 stages. The maximum was in 1956 - 12 stages.
