History
From the very beginning, the publication published news from the life of the capital of Great Britain, reviews of cultural events, articles on topics of politics, economics, education and law. The publication was originally owned by The London weekly Ltd. In 2010, it came under the control of Luxembourg- based European Media Group .
The London weekly came to the forefront of public debate in the UK in 2009-2010 after another publishing company, Global Publishing Group , allegedly funded by a government in one of the countries of the Arab East in 2009. , opened an edition in London under the same name in London (see London Weekly ).
The London weekly journalistic group protested against seizing the name of the publication and entered into negotiations with the Global Publishing Group. Despite the wide scope with which the new “mirror” newspaper was launched, and investing more than 10 million pounds in it [2] , the journalistic community of London stood up for The London weekly and defended the rights of an existing publication, severely criticizing the new project [3 ] .
A number of British publications, including Guardian and Pr week, noted the low level of journalism and the opacity of doing business by the Global Publishing Group [4] . Despite large investments and efforts, the “mirror” project was closed in 2010 .
