João Paulo Andrade ( port. João Paulo Andrade ), better known as João Paulo (born June 6, 1981 in Leiria ) is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Apollo mainly as a central defender.

Club career
A graduate of the Unian Leiria Academy, Juan Paulo was leased to the humble Unian di Tomar in the 2000/01 season, returning to Leiria the next season, under the guidance of Jose Mourinho, he quickly became a key player in the first team and also received a challenge to the youth national team .
In January 2003, as the team captain, he was leased to Sporting , but played only six matches for the capital's club.
After spending the next two seasons in good shape, Paulo in June 2006 was sold to one of the giants of the Portuguese championship , Porto . However, during the pre-season training, he received a serious knee injury, which knocked him out of action for several months [2] . He was only third or fourth in competition for his position. He played only two matches in the starting line-up: in one, he scored a goal, contributing to the victory with a score 3: 0 over the former club “Unian Leiria”; in another he was removed from the field in the Cup final, lost to Sporting [3] .
In August 2008, Juan Paulo, along with his teammate, Pit Bull, was leased to the Romanian club Rapid Bucharest , where he played under the guidance of his compatriot Jose Peseiro .
He later moved to France , signing a three-year contract with Le Mans for about € 1.5 million. He started the season as a base player, but eventually lost his role in the team after firing compatriot Paulo Duarte, the season for the club ended with a departure from League 1 .
João Paulo returned to Portugal during the 2010/11 season, joining Vitoria Guimaraes . [4] On April 3, 2011, he scored his first goal for the main team of Vitoria, equalizing the score in the last minute of the match against his former team, Sporting, in the end a draw was 1: 1 [5] .
On March 2, 2017, after four seasons in three clubs of the Cyprus Championship, Juan Paulo returned to his homeland, signing a contract with amateur Marinense [6] .
Team Career
Paulo represented the country at the 2004 European Youth Championships and Summer Olympics that year. He was not involved in the main team.
