History
In 1817, with the permission of Emperor Alexander I, several hundred families of immigrants from Swabia , Lutheran pietists by faith, arrived on the territory of Russia. They founded several colonies in Transcaucasia, including Annenfeld. In 1909, the community built a neo-Gothic building for its needs. The church operated until 1941, when the Transcaucasian Germans were deported. The building was used first as a house of culture, then as a museum of local lore. In recent years, it was in disrepair, however, with the help of Germany, restoration work is currently underway [1] .
