Georgy Ryazhnov was born on January 19, 1970 in the city of Obninsk, Kaluga Region . Mother - rhythmic gymnastics trainer, USSR master of sports ; father - an employee of the Physics and Energy Institute [1] .
He studied at Obninsk school number 11 [2] .
A pupil of the Obninsk volleyball school , the first coach is Vladimir Pitanov . Together with Oleg Antonov, he entered the first edition of the sports class of the SDYUSSHOR Alexander Savin [3] .
I studied in the first sports class, which was created in Obninsk. Morning training began at 7.30 in the morning. I got up at six. I walked from the house to the gym - you can’t get on the bus. We learned at school, dined, did homework for tomorrow and moved to the second training session by six in the evening. At nine he was returning home. I liked that kind of life. True, I did not like to study. I copied homework from the guys ... [1]
He graduated from the Smolensk State Academy of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism [2] .
His sports career began at VK Iskra ( Odintsovo ), which was coached by a senior pupil of the Obninsk volleyball school Sergei Tsvetnov [1] .
In the seasons of 1990-1991 and 1991-1992, he played for VK MSTU , in which he became the silver medalist of the Russian championship.
On the recommendation of Sergei Kukartsev , who left to play in Argentina after his wife , he was invited to play in the Argentine club [ which one? ] . With the club, as Ryazhnov later said, he was unlucky - he turned out to be semi-professional: during the day the players worked, and in the evening they played or trained. With this team Ryazhnov took seventh place in the Argentine championship [1] .
Returning to Russia at the end of 1992, he began playing in the second league for the newly created Obninsk SPVK, which in 1993 became the leader of the first league and won the right to play in the major league of Russia. In 1996, Obninsk took seventh out of twelve in the major league and ceased to exist due to financial difficulties [4] .
After the collapse of Obninsk, Ryazhnov went to Iran , where he played for the club of the Iranian automobile corporation Paykan . The team became the two-time champion of Iran and the silver and bronze medalist of the Asian Championship among club teams. In the 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 seasons, playing in the Russian Premier League “A” for VK ZSK- “Gazprom” , he first took fifth place in it, then went with the team to the Super League. For the next season, the club bought several eminent players, and Ryazhnov’s place in the main team was not guaranteed. This situation was used by the head coach of Barnaul VK University, Ivan Voronkov , inviting Ryazhnov to his club and obtaining the consent of an experienced 32-year-old volleyball player [5] [6] .
He played in the Kaluga "Oka" [7] .
Amploua is a follower [1] .
After the end of his playing career, he became a coach in beach volleyball , having started to train female couples in Obninsk . Together with Dmitry Fedotov, the pair was coached by Ekaterina Khomyakova - Anna Vozakova [8] .
