History
According to the decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR of January 26, 1918, the Petrograd District of Inland Waterways and Highways was established to guide the operation of the nationalized fleet in the North-West of the country, which was transformed into the Mariinsky Regional Water Transport Department on April 18, 1918 [1 ] .
By order of the People’s Commissariat of Railways of February 19, 1921, the Northwest Water Transport Administration (NWTC) was created in its place, which served the waterways of the Neva , Volkhov , Svir , Vytegra , Sheksna , Mologa , Upper Volga rivers to Rybinsk, Luga and Zapadnaya Dvina , systems of Mariinsky , Tikhvin, Vyshnevolotsky, Berezinsky, lakes Ladoga , Onega , White , Ilmen , Chudsky , Warm and Pskov .
In accordance with the Decree of the Labor and Defense Council of January 30, 1923, the North-West State River Shipping Company (NWSC) was formed with a board in Petrograd. The first chairman of the board of the state shipping company was I. Sundukov, director of the NW of the hydraulic fracturing Shishkin. SZURP was in charge of water transport in the Vologda, Arkhangelsk, Novgorod, Leningrad regions and the southwestern part of Karelia, serving passenger and cargo lines.
At the end of 1929, the shipping company was renamed the Northwest Department of State River Transport. On the basis of the decision of the Central Executive Committee and the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR of March 15, 1934, the Office of the North-Western River Shipping Company of the People’s Commissariat of the USSR was created instead. In 1940, the White Sea-Onego Shipping Company was separated from the North -West Shipping District .
During the Great Patriotic War, part of the shipping fleet operated as part of the Ladoga military flotilla , served the besieged Leningrad [2] .
Shipping company was awarded the Order of the October Revolution [3]
In December 1992, the shipping company was corporatized. On June 3, 1993, it was reorganized into AOOT (since April 1995, OJSC) with the new name “North-Western Shipping Company”. 06/29. 2016 the name of the shipping company was changed to the Public Joint-Stock Company North-West Shipping Company (PJSC SZP)
Owners and management
The North-Western Shipping Company is a part of VBTH - the shipping division of the international transport group UCL Holding (which is the majority shareholder of VBTH), owned by Vladimir Lisin .
