Biography

The book “Moscow professors of the 18th - early 20th centuries” indicates that he “received secondary education at the 1st Kharkov gymnasium ” [3] , although in the “List of pupils who completed the course at the First Kharkov gymnasium during the centenary of its existence. 1805-1905 ”(Kharkov, 1903) his name is absent. In 1837, he entered the Physics and Mathematics Department of the Philosophical Faculty of Kharkov University , where he graduated in 1841 with a candidate ’s degree.

He entered the service in 1843, from November 20 he was in the department of the Ministry of Education [4] - he was determined as a teacher of physics and mathematics in the 2nd Kharkov gymnasium . In 1846 he defended a master's thesis at Kharkov University "On the application of analysis to the presentation of the beginnings of dynamics."

In 1853, he was appointed adjunct in mathematics, mechanics, and architecture to the Gorygoretsky Agricultural Institute, and in 1855 he occupied the department of practical mechanics. While lecturing, he also tested various agricultural machines and mechanisms [3] and mastered building art.

In 1858, he moved to Moscow and took the post of director of the Orphanage , and soon became a teacher and class inspector at the Moscow Craft School , in which, at the Department of Mechanics, founded in 1868, he lectured in general mechanics, mathematics and construction art.

He was promoted to the rank of state councilor on March 13, 1859, and was appointed director of the 2nd Moscow Gymnasium on November 20, 1864 ; December 23, 1866 awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 2nd degree [4] . In 1869, he took charge of the first Moscow Higher Women's Courses (Lubyansk), which opened in the gymnasium, where he was the director.

January 26, 1870 By the highest decree, he was appointed director of the Petrovsky Agricultural and Forestry Academy . He held this position until 1876, when he was appointed a member of the Council of the Ministry of State Property and was soon elected chairman of the technical department of the Free Economic Society and headed it for 15 years.

F.P. Korolev was an honorary member of the Moscow Literacy Committee .

In his native village, in the Kharkov province, he organized a school at his own expense.

He wrote a lot, especially in agricultural mechanics, in various special journals. Separately were printed: "Threshers, winders, grain cleaners, sortings and thresher engines" (1864), "Flax growing. A Guide to Flax Cultivation, Flax Fiber Production and Agricultural Processing ”(1893),“ Fire-Resistant Buildings ”. F. N. Korolev was an employee of the 82-volume "Encyclopedic Dictionary" Brockhaus-Efron.

He was in correspondence and assisted T. G. Shevchenko [5] .
