Boltasound [1] [2] or Baltasound [3] ( eng. Baltasound ) is a village in the central part of the Anst island in the Shetland Islands archipelago .

Geography
It is located on the shore of Bolt's Bay, deeply embedded in the eastern shore of the island and limited to the east by the Bolt Island.
In the village there is an automatic weather station [4] . The maximum temperature of 25 ° C was recorded in July 1958 [5] , the minimum is −11.9 ° C in February 2001 [6] .
Economy
The village is the northernmost post office in the UK.
The A968 road connects the village with Haroldsuik in the north and via two ferry crossings with the island of Mainland in the south.
The airfield BoltSaund (Unst) has a runway length of 600 meters [7] .
In the east of the village there is a pier and pier [8] .
Politics and power
The police station in Boltasaund provides law enforcement on the island [9] .

Attractions
- Manor " Baness House " was built at the end of the XVII century. In 1971, the manor and the buildings surrounding it were included in the list of architectural monuments of category “B” [13] .
