Abay ( Kazakh. Abay ) is a village in the Kostanay district of the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan . It is part of the Zarechny rural district. It is located about 16 km southeast of the city center of Kostanay . The KATO code is 395431200 [1] .

In 1999, the village population was 413 people (204 men and 209 women) [2] . According to the 2009 census , 470 people (236 men and 234 women) lived in the village [2] .
