Soul of a New Machine is conceptual and, according to Dino Casares, is dedicated to the creation of the human machine. This theme is also traced in further creativity.
In its heavy sounding, the album resembles the bands Napalm Death and Godflesh . In some ways, Soul of a New Machine can be called innovative, because on it, in addition to the traditional death metal roar, clean vocals were used. [1] [2]
Despite the basic concept of the album “Man versus Machine,” Soul of a New Machine also contains songs on other topics. Martyr is dedicated to boring lifestyles; Leechmaster and Manipulation - Relations with Prostitutes; Scapegoat - an unfair charge; "Crisis" - anti-war movement; “Crash Test” - experiments on animals; and Suffer Age, serial killer John Wayne Gacy.
Andrew Shives played with the group only at concerts, and all bass parts were recorded by Dino Casares.
