Biography
Born May 18, 1911 in the city of Velikiye Luki, Pskov province, in a working class family. After graduating from high school in 1929, he worked in Leningrad at the Rabotnitsa weaving mill.
From 1931 to 1933 he studied in Tyumen at the Ural Road Institute, then until 1936 - at the Saratov Road Institute . After graduation, he worked as an engineer, the head of the ACS, the chief engineer of the highway department, and then became the head of the Road Administration of the regional executive committee of the Chkalov (now Orenburg ) region.
In 1941 he joined the ranks of the Red Army . Until 1942, he was the commander of a company of sappers of the 19th Infantry Brigade, then a regimental engineer of the 448th Infantry Regiment of the 197th Infantry Division ( North-Western Front) , and was wounded in October 1942 .
Since 1943, he was the company commander of the 55th engineer-combat engineer brigade; since 1944, he was the deputy commander of the 8th assault engineer-engineer brigade of the Central and Belorussian fronts.
Since 1946, he worked in Glavpromstroy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR , held the following posts: Deputy Head of the Department for Construction of a Uranium Plant in the City of Elektrostal , HeadUS No. 601 in the city of Tomsk -7 (now the city of Seversk ).
In 1953, he began working in the Southern Urals , where he held the following positions: Head of US No. 587 (the city of Zlatoust-20 (now the city of Trekhgorny ).
From 1956 to 1960, he was the head of the public administration No. 606, the city of Chelyabinsk-50 (now the city of Snezhinsk ). He supervised the construction of facilities for nuclear energy.
In March 1960, he became head of the Sibakademstroy construction department. Under the leadership of Colonel Ivanov, the Academgorodok of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR was built, the buildings of the institutes of nuclear physics, geology, the buildings of the NSU , the Yunost Culture Center, the buildings of the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences , the House of Scientists of the Academgorodok , the House of Political Education and many other buildings were built. Housing construction was actively conducted.
From 1963 to 1965, Ivanov simultaneously supervised the construction of missile systems and military camps in Kazakhstan ( Semipalatinsk ) and in the Altai Territory ( Aleisk ). He made a contribution to the construction of priority facilities NII-1011 ( RFNC-VNIITF ), the development of the city, the production potential of construction bases. In 1965, Ivanov was awarded the military rank of " Major General of the Engineering Service."
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 29, 1967, Nikolai Markelovich Ivanov was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor for outstanding services in the construction of the Novosibirsk Scientific Center of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences .
Repeatedly elected a member of the Novosibirsk Regional Party Committee and a deputy of the Regional Council of People's Deputies. The delegate of the XXIV Congress of the CPSU . He lived in Novosibirsk .
He was buried in the Southern cemetery in Novosibirsk.
