Scientific Recognition
In 1989, he won a scholarship from Alexander von Humboldt for conducting free research in Germany, where in 1996 he became the first physicist from the former USSR who received a full-time professorship at a German university. In 1998, he was awarded the prestigious “ Stephanos Pnevmatikos Award ”, an international prize for the study of nonlinear phenomena in physics, which is given once every two years to outstanding scientists under the age of 40. In 2011, he won the competition of scientific megagrants of the Government of the Russian Federation.
