The final debate over the Thomas Cup of the 1963-1964 season was overshadowed by the behavior of Indonesian fans who tried to dazzle Danish players with flashlights. The lone matches ended with a score of 4-1 in favor of the Indonesians, but the Danes began to recoup in pairs. As a result, in the final match, where the Danes initially also counted, the behavior of Indonesian fans began to interfere with the game so much that the match was interrupted for 20 minutes. After the match was resumed, the Indonesians gradually managed to turn the game around in their favor, and eventually won the Thomas Cup with a total score of 5-4. The protest of the Danish team was rejected.
