Symbolism Description
The coat of arms of the urban settlement of Kashira was developed on the basis of the historical coat of arms of the county town of Kashir of the Tula governorship, the most highly approved on March 8, 1778, the true description of which reads: a silver field, black with scarlet wings and crowned with a golden vntse dragon, representing the emblem of Kazan , on the memory that this city under the Grand Duke Vasiliy Ioannovich , was given a tribute to the removal of Abdyl L the etif , subdued by the Tsar of Kazan; and the upper part of the shield will show that he didn’t even come out from under the Russian state. ”
Kashira is one of the oldest cities in the Moscow region. The first written mention of the city dates back to 1356. In the spiritual letter of Ivan II, Red Kashira is mentioned as a village bequeathed to his son - Dmitry Donskoy . For many centuries, Kashira was one of the defense centers of the Moscow state. Only in the second half of the 17th century did the importance of Kashira as a fortress give way to the commercial significance of the city.
The emblem of the urban settlement of Kashira emphasizes the historical, cultural and heraldic continuity, the inextricable link of many generations of residents of the city; shows the Kashiryans' careful attitude to their heritage.
Gold is a symbol of wealth, stability, respect, intelligence.
Silver is a symbol of purity, perfection, peace and mutual understanding.
Blue color is a symbol of honor, nobility, spirituality, lofty aspirations; the color of the boundless sky.
Green color is a symbol of nature, health, youth, life growth.
Red color is a symbol of labor, strength, courage, beauty and celebration.
Black is a symbol of wisdom, modesty, eternity of being. "
Coat of Arms History
The historical coat of arms of Kashira was highly approved on March 8 (19) by Empress Catherine II, together with other emblems of the cities of Tula governorship (PSZ, 1778, Law No. 14717) [3] [4]
The coat of arms of Kashira was drawn up at the Heraldry Office under the leadership of the heraldmeister Prince M. M. Shcherbatov .
It should be noted that according to the description, the “ coat of arms of Kazan ” - a dragon ( basilisk ) was included in the coat of arms of Kashira, but the highest approval of the coat of arms of Kazan governorship took place three years later than the Kashira coat of arms - October 18, 1781 . In fact, the dragon (serpent) entered the coat of arms of Kashira from the emblem of the Kazan kingdom of the imperial titular of 1672 .

In 1863, during the Köhne heraldic reform, a draft of the new coat of arms of the county town of Kashira in the Tula province was developed (not officially approved):
“In the silver shield is a black dragon with scarlet wings and a golden crown, above which is a scarlet three-leafed cross. In the free part, the emblem of the Tula province . The shield is crowned with a silver walled crown and is surrounded by golden ears of corn connected by the Alexander ribbon . ”
In the Soviet period, the historical coat of arms of Kashira was not used.
Presumably in 1997, the coat of arms of the city of Kashira was added to the State Heraldry Register under registration number 141. [5]
On November 27, 1998, the coat of arms of the municipality "Kashirsky district" was approved (at that time the city of Kashira was not a separate municipality). [6]
The emblem of the region almost completely repeated the historical emblem of Kashira in 1778. The reconstruction of the coat of arms was carried out with the assistance of the Union of Heraldists of Russia . The idea of reconstructing the coat of arms - K. Mochenov, artist - R. Malanichev. The coat of arms of the district was entered in the State Heraldry Register under No. 406.
After the municipal reform of 2006, the Kashira City Settlement municipality was formed as part of the Kashirsky Municipal District municipality.
On October 31, 2006, by the decision of the Council of Deputies of the Municipal Formation "The Kashira City Settlement, the emblem of the Kashira City Settlement of the Kashira Municipal District of the Moscow Region was approved. [7]
The decision stated: “to establish the coat of arms of the municipality“ City Settlement of Kashira ”- the coat of arms of the city of Kashira, entered in the Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation under No. 141”
The coat of arms of the city of Kashira began to have the following description: “In a crossed azure (blue, blue) and silver field; above is a golden Greek cross; below - on the green land is a black dragon with a golden beak, paws and a crown and with red (red) eyes, tongue. ”
The new coat of arms of the Kashirsky region was approved on June 20, 2008 [8] and entered in the State Heraldic Register of the Russian Federation under No. 4247.
On February 25, 2010, by a decision of the Council of Deputies of the city settlement of Kashir in the Kashirsky municipal district of the Moscow region [9] , the municipal normative legal act “Regulations on the coat of arms of the municipality“ City Settlement of Kashira ”was adopted in a new edition and a color image of the coat of arms was approved (practically repeated the historical coat of arms of Kashira ), as well as a new edition of the coat of arms description and justification of its symbolism, however, in this decision, the coat of arms did not apply for registration number 141 in the Heraldic Register of Ro the Russian Federation, and again subject to state registration in the manner.
On September 30, 2010, the Decision of February 25, 2010 was canceled, and Decision of the Council of Deputies of the city settlement dated September 30, 2010 No. 91/29 adopted a new version of the Regulation "On the coat of arms of the Moscow Region" Kashira city settlement. "The description of the coat of arms as a whole has been preserved. Only specified the possibility of using the coat of arms with a free part, with the coat of arms of the Moscow region.
On March 29, 2011, the coat of arms of the Kashira city settlement was re-entered in the State Heraldry Register under registration number 406 (it is likely that registration number 141 in the heraldic register remained owned by the coat of arms of the city of Kashira, and not the Kashira city settlement).
On the basis of the historical coat of arms of Kashira in 1778, the coat of arms of the Kashira district of the Voronezh region was also created and approved on February 13, 2007 . The center of the municipal district - the village of Kashirskoye, Voronezh Region - was settled in 1764 by peasants - migrants from the Kashirsky district of the Tula governorship.
