Biography
A representative of the Westphalian noble family who was in the Russian service since the 17th century, a relative of the first colonel of the Preobrazhensky regiment, Georg von Mengden .
He participated in the Northern War with Sweden, from 1707 he commanded an infantry regiment (from 1708 - the Ustyug Infantry Regiment ). In 1709 together with the regiment he defended himself in Poltava , besieged by the Swedes.
