Sueo Oe ( Japanese 大江 季 雄 O: e Sueo , August 2, 1914 - December 24, 1941 ) - Japanese athlete, Olympic medalist.

Sueo Oe was born in 1914 in Maizuru , Kyoto Prefecture ; graduated from Keio University .
In 1936, Sueo Oe took part in the Olympic Games in Berlin . When it was decided that Earl Meadows from the USA would become the champion in pole vaults, and Shuhei Nishida and Sueo Oe were to compete for second place, the two Japanese athletes refused to compete among themselves, and it was decided by lot that Nishida would receive a silver medal, and Oe - bronze (these pole vault competitions were included in the Olympia documentary filmed by Leni Riefenstahl ).
Sueo Oe died at the beginning of the Pacific War during the Japanese invasion of the Philippines .
