Distribution

South Africa (KwaZulu-Nata, Transvaal) [1] [2] .

Description

Hymenoptera insects of a microscopic size dark brown in color. The body length is about 1 mm (the female is 922-1050 microns in size ). the abdomen is smooth, the length of the ovipositor is 287-362 microns, the front wings are 1079-1169 microns, the hind wings are 814-839 microns. Flagellum of females contains 8 flagellomeric segments; the final segment, the largest, forms a club (11 segments with pedicellus, annulus and scape ). The legs are 5-segmented. Wings with strongly reduced venation, no cells. The host on which these riders parasitize is unknown, but presumably, like other species of the genus, they are egg parasitoids of the winged insects (cicadas from the families Cicadellidae and Cercopidae ) [1] .

Etymology

The species was first described in 2010 by the American entomologist John Huber (Huber, JT; Entomology Research Museum) and was named for the white color of the antennae club [1] .
