Yana Alekseevna Kudryavtseva ( September 30, 1997 , Moscow ) is a Russian gymnast . Silver medalist of the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro (2016) [2] . Biography
Yana is the daughter of the 1992 Olympic swimming champion Alexei Kudryavtsev and his wife Victoria.
Kudryavtseva’s sports career began in 2008: she won national junior tournaments, including the Russian Junior Championship in 2009 in Dmitrov , in 2011 in Samara and in 2012 in Kazan .
Yana began performing at international competitions in the 2011 season. In Moscow, at the international junior tournament, held in parallel with the Grand Prix stage, she became the first in the team with Dina and Arina Averin , as well as in exercises with a hoop and clubs. She won the Junior World Cup in Pesaro. In 2012, at the European Championships, she became the champion among juniors in the exercise with the ball, and also won the "gold" in the team all-around with Julia Sinitsyna , Alexandra Soldatova and Diana Borisova .

Sports career: 2013
Kudryavtseva began performing in adult competitions in 2013 at the international tournament among seniors, held as part of the Grand Prix stage in Moscow, as well as at the next stage in Holon, where she won the all-around, clubs and ball exercises and the “bronze” in exercise with the hoop [4] .
Then she took part in the World Cup in Sofia , where she won first place in the all-around and became the first gymnast to win the World Cup in her debut season, leaving behind the Bulgarian Sylvia Mitev and teammate Margarita Mamun [5] . She also won the hoop and club exercises and won the bronze in the ribbon exercise [6] . At the World Cup stage in Minsk, Yana won the second consecutive gold medal in the all-around, as well as “gold” in the exercise with the ball and “silver” in the exercises with clubs and ribbon [7] .
At the European Championships in Vienna, she replaced Alexander Merkulova and, together with her teammates, Margarita Mamun and Daria Svatkovskaya , won the gold medal in the team all-around [8] . In the finals of certain types, she excelled in exercises with the ball (the first of all athletes to receive an amount of 19 points with the new judging system) and clubs [9] . Yana became the youngest European champion, as did Alina Kabaeva , who also won her first European Championship in 15 years.
The first final of the 2013 World Cup was held for Yana in St. Petersburg , where she won the “bronze” in the all-around, as well as the gold medal in the exercises with the ball and the “silver” in the exercises with ribbon and clubs [10] .
In August of the same year, Yana made her debut at the World Cup in Kiev . During the qualification in the exercise with the tape as a result of technical failures, the music was repeatedly interrupted, and Yana had to perform again, which did not prevent her from becoming the first in this form with a result of 18.516. In addition, Kudryavtseva won the gold medal in the exercise with clubs, sharing this award with her compatriot Margarita Mamun, and became the silver medalist in exercises with the ball and hoop [11] [12] [13] . In the individual all-around final, Yana won the “gold”, beating the Ukrainian gymnast Anna Rizatdinova and Melitina Stanyuta from Belarus and becoming the youngest absolute world champion in 15 years.
At the end of October, the Aeon Cup Club World Championship was held in Japan, at which Kudryavtseva, along with Margarita Mamun and Julia Bravikova, represented the Gazprom club. Russian gymnasts won the team competition, ahead of the national teams of Belarus (Melitina Stanyuta, Ekaterina Galkina and Anna Bozhko) and Ukraine (Anna Rizatdinova, Victoria Mazur and Eleanor Romanova ). In addition, Kudryavtseva won the “gold” in the individual all-around [14] .
Sports career: 2014
Yana began the 2014 season by participating in the first tournament of the Grand Prix series in Moscow, becoming the third in the all-around and the second in the finals of the exercises with a hoop and clubs. According to Irina Viner, Kudryavtseva, although she was not fully prepared for the competition, nevertheless, remains one of the three leaders of the national team along with Margarita Mamun and Maria Titova [15] . Already at the next competition in Tie, Jana excelled in all-around and two finals - with a hoop and a ball - and took silver in the club exercise [16] , and at the World Cup in Stuttgart she improved her results by winning four gold medals (all-around, hoop, ball, maces) [17] . At the Grand Prix in Holon, she added four more awards to her piggy bank (two “gold” for the ribbon and clubs, “silver” for the all-around and “bronze” for the ball) [18] , and at the World Cup in Pesaro became the winner in all types of programs [19] .
In April, at the Russian Championship in Penza , Yana Kudryavtseva became the absolute champion in individual all-around [20] . In May, at the competitions in Corbey-Eson [21] [22] and Tashkent [23], Yana was the second in the all-around twice, skipping ahead of her compatriot Margarita Mamun , and at the next stages in Minsk and Sofia she became the first again. At the thirtieth anniversary European Championship, Kudryavtseva also celebrated her victory as an absolute champion. At the final stage of the World Cup in Kazan, Yana took four “gold” (all-around, ball, maces, ribbon) and one “silver” (hoop) [24] .
Performances at the 2014 World Championships in Izmir began with the team all-around, according to which the Russian team (Yana Kudryavtseva, Margarita Mamun and Alexandra Soldatova) won a gold medal. Kudryavtseva qualified for all finals, winning “gold” in exercises with a hoop, a ball (together with Margarita Mamun) and clubs, and “silver” with a ribbon, and also repeated her last year’s achievement, becoming the absolute champion in individual all-around. At the end of the tournament, Yana received a special prize from Longines for elegance [25] . It was previously reported that Yana Kudryavtseva and Julia Steingruber were chosen as ambassadors of Longines elegance [26] .

Sports career: 2015
In the 2015 season, Kudryavtseva performed at five stages of the World Cup: in Lisbon (“bronze” in the all-around, silver for the exercises with clubs), Pesaro (“gold” in the all-around and for exercises with clubs and ribbon, “silver” for hoop), Budapest ("gold" in the all-around and for exercises with a hoop and ball), and at the stages in Bucharest and Sofia, she won "gold" in all kinds of programs. In the final of the World Cup in Kazan, she became the second in the all-around, but withdrew from competitions in individual events due to a leg injury [28] .
Yana Kudryavtseva won the gold medal in the individual all-around at the world championship in rhythmic gymnastics in Stuttgart . Her result is 75.632 points.
Sports career: 2016
Kudryavtseva began the Olympic season with performances out of competition at the international Baltic Hoop tournament. The first official start for her was the third stage of the World Cup in Pesaro , where she won the all-around and, by decision of the coaching staff, did not take part in the finals of certain types [29] . At the World Cup stage in Tashkent, she won all kinds of programs [30] , in Sofia she won “gold” in the all-around and in exercises with the ball and ribbon [31] , in Kazan she won “silver” in the all-around and “gold” in the exercises with a hoop and a ball.
At the European Championships in Holon, she became the absolute champion in individual all-around.
At the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil, she took second place in the individual all-around, having lost at the end of the exercise with clubs.
On November 28, 2016, the head of the All-Russian Federation of Chemistry, Irina Viner-Usmanova , suggested that Yana Kudryavtseva is likely to end her sports career due to the severe consequences of a leg fracture [32] . The gymnast herself said that she was not ready to make a final decision [33] , but at the beginning of 2017 it became known that Kudryavtseva intended to end her career, which she notified the International Gymnastics Federation at the end of last year [34] .
Personal life
In the summer of 2018, Yana Kudryavtseva married hockey player Dmitry Kugryshev , and on December 25 of that year, their daughter Eva was born [35] .
