Tomsk Regional Art Museum

Created on October 1, 1979 by the decision of the Tomsk Regional Executive Committee, the basis of the exposition was the collection of the art department of the Tomsk Regional Museum of Local Lore . In 1982, the museum was transferred to the former apartment building of the merchant, Natalia Ivanovna Orlova (architect K.K. Lygin , 1903), before which was occupied by the Tomsk Regional Committee of the CPSU ^[1] .

The beginning of the formation of the museum’s collection dates back to the 1920s, among the first 50 paintings in the collection of the museum of local lore from the section for the protection of cultural and art monuments of the provincial department of public education, “The head of a girl. Portrait of Z. S. Khaminova (sketch) ”by V. I. Surikov ^[2] ,“ Still Life with Begonia ”by P. P. Konchalovsky ^{[3] [4]} . In 1929, the works “Portraits of the Mazurins” by V. A. Tropinin ^[5] , “Portrait of A. V. Kasyanov” by V. A. Serov ^[6] , and “Portrait of A. I. were transferred from the State Museum Fund and the Tretyakov Gallery . Korsakova ”by O. A. Kiprensky ^[7] , landscapes by V. D. Polenov , L. L. Kamenev and other painters of the 18th-19th centuries. At the same time, drawings and watercolors arrived, among them the works of F. A. Malyavin , A. A. Lentulov (Portrait of the Unknown (Double portrait, 1918)). In the 1940s, the works of P. A. Svedomsky ^[8] , M. K. Klodt were purchased in Tomsk, portraits of the work of P. F. Pleshanov were accepted as a gift.

The museum has six watercolors by M. A. Voloshin , possibly “attached” by R. S. Ilyin ^[9] .

Exposition

Six permanent exhibition halls represent about 100 significant works of Russian painting and graphics . The museum’s collection contains works by I.K. Aivazovsky ^[10] , “Apple Orchard” by B. M. Kustodiev ^[11] , “Portrait of the sculptor K. F. Kracht ” by A. V. Makovsky ^[12] , “Portrait of the violinist V. G. Walter » G. G. Myasoedov ^[13] .

The formation of the collection of Western European art began in 1928, when paintings by the Western European masters “View of the Gulf of Naples” by D. Gigante, “The Controversy of Scientists” by M. Geisser, “Javelin throw” by B. Halofre-i-Jimenez and others. V In 1932, the collection was replenished with works from the collection of the A. Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts : “The School of Thieves” by I. Matesen, “The Sacrifice of Abraham” by D. Teniers the Younger , “The Feast” by I. van Ostade , “The Interior of the Chapel del Tesoro in Naples” F. Werwlut, "M lodaya woman standing verdzhinella "G. van Donka and others.

The exposition of Western European art presents several early paintings by a native of Tomsk K. Zelenevsky .

Sculptures . The exposition includes the works of famous Russian masters of the second half of the 19th – beginning of the 20th centuries: “Female Head” (stone), S. T. Konenkova , bas-reliefs “Feast of the Penelope Grooms” and “Beating of the Penelope Grooms” (copper, electroforming) F.
