History

Until 2015, the canton included the communes:

Avresy , Avrigny , Agnes , Bayeul-le- Sauce , Blencourt , Breuil-le-Ver , Breuil-le-Sec , Bulle , Clermont , La Neuville-en-Eze , La Rue-Saint-Pierre , Lamecur , Persons , Membeville , Remecourt , Remerangle , Saint- Aubinen -sous-Herquerie , Fi Jam , Fuyes , Choisy-la-Victoire , Epinez , Erion , Herquerie , Etui .

As a result of the 2015 reform ^{[1], the} composition of the canton was changed. It included separate communes of the abolished canton of Liancourt .

Policy

In the 2017 presidential election, the canton residents cast in the 1st round of Marine Le Pen 31.1% of the vote against 20.8% of Emmanuel Macron , 19.4% of Jean-Luc Melanson and 13.7% of Francois Fillon ; in the 2nd round, Macron won the canton, receiving 52.0% of the vote. (2012 1st round: Francois Hollande - 28.4%, Marine Le Pen - 25.8%, Nicolas Sarkozy - 24.7%; 2nd round: Hollande - 51.1%).

Since 2015, the canton has been represented on the Council of the Oise Department by Ophélie Van Elsuwe, vice-mayor of the commune, Ophélie Van Elsuwe, and Edouard Courtial, President of the Oise Department Council (both Republicans ).
