Located on the right bank of the Istra River , 1 km south of the city of Istra , there is the nearest railway station, the height of the village center above sea level is 153 m [5] . Neighboring settlements: on the other side of the river, in the north - Trusovo , east - Kachabrovo , a hundred meters to the south-west of Koterevo .
In the XVI-XVIII centuries, the village belonged to the Sourozh camp of the Moscow district , at the end of the XVIII century it entered Voskresensky, then into the Ruzsky district . At the beginning of the XIX century, Velyaminovo was included in the Zvenigorod district of the Moscow province , which it consisted of until 1921, entering the Luchinsky volost of Zvenigorod district. Since January 14, 1921, by resolution of the Presidium of the Moscow Soviet, the Veliaminovsky Village Council was formed and included in the Resurrection County [6] .
