Content
Geography
The river originates in the Todos los Santos lake at an altitude of 189 meters near the village of Petrowe. Flows initially to the south-west, then to the south, then to the south-east, flows into the Relonkawi fjord , then the river flows into the Relonkawi Bay of the Pacific Ocean . Most of the river flow is located on the territory of the Vicente-Pérez-Rosales National Park . In the upper reaches of the river forms waterfalls .
The total area of the river basin is 2868 km², the length of the river is 36 km.
Climate
The climate in the river basin is moderately humid, the average annual rainfall is 2500-3000 mm. The average annual temperature is 11.1 ° C, the average January temperature is + 16 ° C, July + 6.5 ° C.
Flora and fauna
The banks of the river are covered with lush vegetation, in the local forests there are elms , myrtle , willows and many species of ferns . In the waters of the Petrowe River there is a chinook , trout , mykiss , salmon and coho . The river is one of the best rivers for holding competitions in sport fishing nationally and internationally, given the wide variety of valuable species of fish and optimal conditions for fishing.
