Club career

Rigters graduate of the famous Academy of Amsterdam, " Ajax ." In 2003, he began his career at the Heerenveen Club. Maseo could not win the competition and at the end of the season he moved to Dordrecht , which is the lower division. Having scored 8 goals in 17 matches, Rigters again moved to Eredivisi , signing a contract with NAC Breda . Despite a permanent place at the base, Maseo scored just 5 goals in two seasons.

In the summer of 2007, after the youth Euro Rigters, in the rank of the top scorer of the tournament, he switched to English Blackburn Rovers . He signed a four-year contract with the club. On July 22, in the Intertoto Cup match against the Lithuanian Wind , Maseo made his debut for the new club, replacing Benny McCarthy in the 65th minute. On September 29, in a fight against Sunderland , Rigters made his debut for the club in the Premier League [2] . The next four years, due to high competition, he acted on loan for Norwich City , Barnsley and Willem II . On July 1, 2011, Maseo’s contract with Blackburn ended and he became a free agent.

On August 19, Rigters signed a contract with the Wellington Phoenix club in New Zealand , but the contract was terminated because the parties could not agree on the terms. He spent 10 days in the team and even managed to score a goal in a friendly match.

On September 1 of the same year, Maseo signed a contract with the Gold Coast United team. On October 21, he made his A-League debut against Brisbane Roar [3] . Already in the next fight against the Newcastle United Jets , the Rigters scored their first goal for the Gold Coast United [4] . At the end of the season, United did not renew the contract and Maseo became a free agent.

International Career

In 2007, Rigters was called up to the Netherlands youth team to participate in the home European youth championship . At the tournament, he became his top scorer, distinguishing himself in group stage matches against the youth teams of Belgium and Portugal . In the semi-final against England, Maseo scored the ball at the end of the meeting, which transferred the game to extra time, and the Dutch were more accurate in the penalty shootout. Rigters also excelled in the final meeting against Serbia and helped the youth team become European champions.
