Biography

Isaac Schroit was born in Chisinau (at that time as part of the Romanian province of Bessarabia ), in the family of a retired soldier of the tsarist army Gersh Munishevich Schroit (1896-1982) and Rosa Isaakovna Shroit (1896-1985). [2] He studied at an elementary school in France , and after the family returned to Bessarabia, at the Chisinau Lyceum “Alexandru Donici” (graduated in 1938 ). After serving in the Romanian army he worked as a house manager, entered the Tomsk Medical Institute, in 1944 he returned to Chisinau, where he finished his last year at the Chisinau Medical Institute (1945).

He began his scientific activity in Tomsk under the guidance of pathophysiologist Daniil Isaakovich Goldberg (1906-1973). He worked as a pathologist and forensic expert, since 1947 he was an assistant at the Department of Pathological Anatomy of the Chisinau Medical Institute, and after defending his Ph.D. scientific work. He defended his doctoral dissertation on the subject “Materials on measles histopathology (comparative pathology and pathogenesis)” in 1966 .

He is the author of scientific works on the epidemiology and therapy of measles , mycoplasma pneumonia and other mycoplasmas, lung cancer, cholecystitis.

Wife (since 1946 ) - oncologist and pathologist, doctor of medical sciences Iraida Aleksandrovna Yakovleva (born 1924), professor (1967), honored worker of science of the Moldavian SSR. [3] Daughter - morphologist, candidate of medical sciences Natalia Isaakovna Shroit (1947-1991).
