Erdi (plateau)

Erdi is a rocky plateau in Africa . Located in northeast Chad near the border with Libya and Sudan .

The mountain plateau is composed of sandstones , its height reaches 1115 m. Xerophilous cereals and shrubs grow on the Erdi plateau. Between the plateau of Erdi and Ennedy is the Murdi Desert.

The first and only scientific expedition until 2005 in this remote area was carried out in 1923 by Ahmed Pasha Hassanein, a student at Oxford University . At the end of 2005, the German geographer and climatologist Stefan Kroepelin studied the plateau.
