The left-bank Karasu canal is laid along the channel of the natural arm of the Chirchik River [1] , and can be considered as its channel [2] . A relatively rare case of water division shows up as a river channel: flowing into Akhangaran , transfers part of the water from Chirchik to another basin.

Hydrological Characterization
Left-bank Karasu originates at the Verkhnechirchik hydroelectric complex [3] (formerly the Trinity Dam [4] ), located on the Chirchik River at the southern border of the city of the same name [5] . Water intake regulation is carried out in an automated mode by means of a dam with 10 gates [6] . The sources provide various data on the throughput of its head structure: 180 [3] and 160 m³ / s [7] .
Throughout, Karasu retains the general southeastern direction of the current. On the left a lot of sais [com 1] flows into it, among which the largest are Yuzuruksai , Parkentsai , Samsareksai , Kyzylsai [3] . To the right, not a single tributary flows into the river [2] .
At the waterworks, Shamalak flows into the Akhangaran River [3] .
Economic Use
Left-bank Karasu is one of the most important irrigation canals of Tashkent region. Its waters irrigated 165 thousand hectares of land in Yukarychirchik , Urtachirchik and Akkurgan fogs [3] .
In the XX century, a number of dam water intake structures were built on the Left Bank of Karasu. The Naiman dam at the 59th kilometer of the current, erected in 1926 [3], became the first structure of this type. Algabas canals, RK-7 and RK-71 collectors [3] [8] originate from the Naiman dam. In 1930-1932, the construction of the Hantugansk water intake facility was underway [3] . The structure of the hydraulic structure includes a dam and a water distributor between the Margunenkova Canal , collectors RK-8 and RK-9 [3] [8] . In the 1960-1970s, 4 more water intake sites were built, located on the 3rd, 13th, 36th and 56th kilometers of the canal route [3] .
In the upper reaches from Karasu, a large branch of Handam departs, at the 36th kilometer - the Tashkent Canal named after I. A. Palvanov [3] .
