It is located above the Great Belt Strait , 110 km southwest of the state capital - Copenhagen, next to the famous Big Belt bridge , the third longest span in the world, connecting the islands of Zeeland and Funen .
Port. Korsør is the home base of the 2nd Squadron of the Royal Danish Navy .
